About

My name is Mikayla! I'm a 22 year old University Graduate with a passion for all things beauty. I stumbled into the online beauty community a year ago and have been obsessed with youtube videos and blogs ever since. After watching hundreds of videos over the past year I figured it was about time I joined the community and posted my own thoughts in my own little space. I'm also recently graduated, unemployed and headed for college in September.

I really enjoy all things beauty, and I really like telling my friends what I think about products so writing them down just felt natural. To me, make up isn't something that you wear to make yourself look prettier, it's something you do on yourself for yourself. It has the power to give you strength to tackle a rough day, the courage to find your inner confidence and sparkle like every girl is meant too.

Other than beauty, I love fashion. Beauty and Fashion are the keys to my heart, along with a great deal. I'm all about a decent deal, and budget shopping is my favourite.

I can't wait to start this journey with the internet and all of you!

Hand Cream Round Up

Tuesday 24 February 2015

As we near the end of winter it is a good idea to showcase some of the products that have carried me through the last couple months. The dry cold air in Ontario is tough on your skin, it can cause your hands (and especially your lips) to dry out and crack. Wearing mittens to protect your hands doesn't really do anything for the dryness, so they don't really help except to keep you warm- which is the most important

I keep Soap and Glory Hand Food on my end table and use it morning and night to moisturize my hands. This stuff is amazing, I love that it isn't greasy but that you still feel the effects afterwards. It is made with Shea Butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow. I like this lotion so much that I even use it on my feet when they are dry before I go to bed, instead of buying the foot lotion by the same brand. Soap and Glory is really difficult to find in Canada- at least in my area, but I am going to have to hunt this down when I get close to running out.

Bath and Body Works Winter Candy Apple stays on my desk because the bottle is slightly smaller. This is my favourite scent that Bath and Body Works releases around Christmas time, and is currently the lotion I use when I get out of the shower, so having the matching hand lotion keeps the scent going for a little bit. This is made with Shea butter and vitamin E and is very moisturizing. It also doesn't leave that pesky greasy feeling on my hands, so it is easy to apply and then get right back to doing my homework.

Arbonne Shea Butter this guy rotates between my school bag and my purse. I was given this by a friend as a gift, and I love it. Like the other two lotions it doesn't leave a greasy film behind, but really moisturizes. The scent of this one is vanilla- which is my favourite scent of all time, bonus and it just genuinely rocks as a product.

What products have you guys been using to help your hands in the winter? Let me know in the comments below!
