About
My name is Mikayla! I'm a 22 year old University Graduate with a passion for all things beauty. I stumbled into the online beauty community a year ago and have been obsessed with youtube videos and blogs ever since. After watching hundreds of videos over the past year I figured it was about time I joined the community and posted my own thoughts in my own little space. I'm also recently graduated, unemployed and headed for college in September.
I really enjoy all things beauty, and I really like telling my friends what I think about products so writing them down just felt natural. To me, make up isn't something that you wear to make yourself look prettier, it's something you do on yourself for yourself. It has the power to give you strength to tackle a rough day, the courage to find your inner confidence and sparkle like every girl is meant too.
Other than beauty, I love fashion. Beauty and Fashion are the keys to my heart, along with a great deal. I'm all about a decent deal, and budget shopping is my favourite.
I can't wait to start this journey with the internet and all of you!

I got my schoolbag from Target, it's just a duffle bag with lots of room to store my laptop and binders and everything a college girl needs.
Inside I have my laptop, binder and textbook, my planner and pencil case, as well as a water bottle ad some snacks. I do share a car with my sister so some days I'm at the school longer then when I have class, so I bring extra books to do more homework.
Tune in Tomorrow to see a Back to School Makeup Look!

I have always been a very organized person, in high school and university I balance a lot of different activities and jobs, which required my time management skills to be on point, this year it is absolutely no different. With the blog and other things going on like sharing a car with my sister I really have to be organized, especially with an overwhelming school schedule.
I colour code everything, my closet, my drawers, everything so each class is assigned a colour, with a co-ordinating binder, and an iCal colour. slightly obsessive I know!
I keep my planner and this arrow pencil case with me all the time. The planner is from Chapters and was $15, and I got the pencil case from a boutique in Steveston B.C.
The first tab is my month at a glance, where I put colour-coded notes about tests and assignments, as well as personal notes in black and my blog dates in pencil so I can change things around
The second tab has my week marked off. This planner has 2 weeks at a time to really see what's going on. I like this because I can see what is coming up the next week.
On the other side I keep a large sticky note with next weeks homework listed, colour coded so that I can mark things off as I go. I took the time to do the first quarter of the school year to match my syllabus so that I'm not surprised by anything. Why yes a life would be wonderful!
Come back tomorrow to see my school bag essentials!

As a post-grad student I finished my degree in June I am no stranger to long days and nights sitting at a workspace pumping out assignments or doing readings. As I go into college for some career training I feel like I know what works for me when it comes to a workspace. I need a very clear workspace, without a lot of clutter to really spread my things out. My desk is from Walmart, it was on sale for $29.97 and is really simple, with just the drawer and the table top.
I keep a tumblr on my desk to fill with water while I'm working to sip on, and a photo of my friends and me from University.
I use a cutlery organizer in my drawer to keep pens, highlighters, and markers as well as a usb and a backup charger for my phone, some sticky notes and binder clips.
I keep a notebook and some sticky notes close by for quick notes, the pink notebook is filled with blog ideas and notes!
Come back tomorrow to read how I keep my planner organized!
