About

My name is Mikayla! I'm a 22 year old University Graduate with a passion for all things beauty. I stumbled into the online beauty community a year ago and have been obsessed with youtube videos and blogs ever since. After watching hundreds of videos over the past year I figured it was about time I joined the community and posted my own thoughts in my own little space. I'm also recently graduated, unemployed and headed for college in September.

I really enjoy all things beauty, and I really like telling my friends what I think about products so writing them down just felt natural. To me, make up isn't something that you wear to make yourself look prettier, it's something you do on yourself for yourself. It has the power to give you strength to tackle a rough day, the courage to find your inner confidence and sparkle like every girl is meant too.

Other than beauty, I love fashion. Beauty and Fashion are the keys to my heart, along with a great deal. I'm all about a decent deal, and budget shopping is my favourite.

I can't wait to start this journey with the internet and all of you!

Cross Canada Days 1-3

Friday 3 July 2015

Since July 1st (Happy Belated Birthday Canada!) my parents, my grandpa and I have been trekking across Canada. As I have mentioned before, my dad is in the Air Force, and his newest posting is taking my family's "home base" back to where we sort of call home or "our natural habitat." This move is spanning the beautiful province of British Columbia (Vancouver) to Ontario (Barrie) and we are driving about 4,500 kilometres to get there.

I had planned on blogging every day starting July 1st but I didn't realize how tiring this trip would be, our first day we drove only 4-5 hours, and yesterday it was about 10 hours of driving, and the views are overwhelming, and we get to our hotel and it is pretty much crawl into bed and repeat. So today's post will be showing you some highlights from the first 3 days of my trip, and then I will make a better effort to blog every night starting tomorrow.

Day One! Vancouver to Kelowna

The first day we left Vancouver (in the middle of a heat wave) and headed for Kelowna, we stopped for lunch at a park and continued on our way.

Day Two! Kelowna to Banff Alberta!

We started off leaving Kelowna by visiting a Kangaroo farm (unusual for Canada, I know!) but they have been here for a couple of generations so they are super friendly, you are able to hold baby Joey's (one I held was 7 days out of his mothers pouch and named Victor) and pet the adult kangaroos!

One of our rest stops had goats that walked up a ramp and you could pay a quarter to feed them while they were on the platform!

We also went to Lake Louise as we approached Banff!
It is glacier water, which makes it really cold, but I had to put my feet in!

Day Three! Banff to Red Deer Alberta!

Today we left Banff and headed to Red Deer, on our way we stopped at the Banff Hot Springs Hotel (which looked like a castle!) and then on to the Columbia Ice Fields before heading to Red Deer.

Tonight we spend the night in Red Deer, and tomorrow we are heading for Drumheller for a stop to see the Badlands and then on to Medicine Hat for our last night in Alberta. We are approximately 1,500 kilometres into our trip, averaging about 500 kilometres a day!

The Rockie mountains were absolutely incredible, I cannot believe how beautiful they are, and how abruptly they ended, it was like a wall of mountains and then nothing but hills and farm lands.
