About

My name is Mikayla! I'm a 22 year old University Graduate with a passion for all things beauty. I stumbled into the online beauty community a year ago and have been obsessed with youtube videos and blogs ever since. After watching hundreds of videos over the past year I figured it was about time I joined the community and posted my own thoughts in my own little space. I'm also recently graduated, unemployed and headed for college in September.

I really enjoy all things beauty, and I really like telling my friends what I think about products so writing them down just felt natural. To me, make up isn't something that you wear to make yourself look prettier, it's something you do on yourself for yourself. It has the power to give you strength to tackle a rough day, the courage to find your inner confidence and sparkle like every girl is meant too.

Other than beauty, I love fashion. Beauty and Fashion are the keys to my heart, along with a great deal. I'm all about a decent deal, and budget shopping is my favourite.

I can't wait to start this journey with the internet and all of you!

Naked on the Run

Monday 20 April 2015

Urban Decay is known for creamy eyeshadows and irresistible palettes (the Naked 2 is the first high-end palette I ever had- and is still my favourite). Since the Naked on the Run had come out I had been eyeing it every time I went to Sephora- always with the inner battle of do I need to spend more money on makeup.

While I was on my brief hiatus to finish school, it was my birthday. This year my birthday fell close to Easter and a vacation my mom had taken, so she was here for my birthday. This was enough of a gift but my sister took her to Sephora, and mentioned the Naked on the Run palette that I had been eyeing sister of the year I tell you.

The packaging is Rose Gold and sturdy, being a hard plastic metal with magnetic closure. It is quite large and bulky, but for a palette that contains seriously everything you need for a nice Naked face, I don't see how they could have cut it down in size.

The palette contains everything you would need to do your face for a weekend, minus foundation which is based on personal preference of liquid, powder etc. The main attraction to this palette are the 6 exclusive eyeshadows (from left) Dive, Fix, Resist, Dare, Stun and (bottom right) 5050. As well as a bronzer and a blush, a travel size deluxe!! of Perversion Mascara, travel size 24/7 Eye Pencil in Stag and a FULL SIZE of the Naked Lipgloss in Sesso.

Stag, Sesso, Dive, Fix, Resist, Dare and Stun
Bronzer, Blush and 5050
I've had this palette for a couple weeks now, and I can honestly say, it is worth it. I am absolutely in love with it, it doesn't get put away. The mirror that is part of the packaging, is the size of the palette, and with the exception of tools and foundation, concealer and brow stuff, this could do you an entire weekend (I plan on bring just this and a couple things when I go away this summer for a month!) The range of the shades, with 2 mattes and 3 shimmery ones allows for a variety of looks, and 5050 I seriously thought was a highlighter- and use it as one, because of how fine and perfect it is. I had been considering the lipgloss as a purchase as well, and the one that came in this palette is the perfect my lips but glossier shade, and is amazing, I love that it doesn't slid off the lips but that it isn't too sticky.

Overall, this is another exceptional product from Urban Decay, and I absolutely love it.

Have you tried the Naked on the Run Palette? What were your thoughts?
