My name is Mikayla! I'm a 22 year old University Graduate with a passion for all things beauty. I stumbled into the online beauty community a year ago and have been obsessed with youtube videos and blogs ever since. After watching hundreds of videos over the past year I figured it was about time I joined the community and posted my own thoughts in my own little space. I'm also recently graduated, unemployed and headed for college in September.

I really enjoy all things beauty, and I really like telling my friends what I think about products so writing them down just felt natural. To me, make up isn't something that you wear to make yourself look prettier, it's something you do on yourself for yourself. It has the power to give you strength to tackle a rough day, the courage to find your inner confidence and sparkle like every girl is meant too.

Other than beauty, I love fashion. Beauty and Fashion are the keys to my heart, along with a great deal. I'm all about a decent deal, and budget shopping is my favourite.

I can't wait to start this journey with the internet and all of you!

The Scrub That Will Make Everyone Jealous

I'm a sucker for soft skin, the amount of moisturizers in my closet is evidence enough, but when it comes to scrubs and exfoliating, I never really find the right one, one that isn't too abrasive but still works, one that noticeably makes my skin softer. Enter Jealous Body Scrub, when the people at Jealous offered to send me a  package of their body scrub I obviously jumped at the chance. Not only are the ingredients simple and natural, but they are from Vancouver which is where my heart secretly is. 

The product itself is made of premium robusta coffee, organic cold pressed coconut oil, raw brown sugar, sea salt, vitamin E and minerals. This bag of amazingness comes packed with natural caffeine, to stimulate blood flow and reduce the appearance of cellulite, acne, veracious veins (spider veins), the brown sugar and sea salt exfoliate, coconut oil moisturizes and vitamin E repairs.

I've been using this about 2-3 times a week for the last month, and I have to say, whole heartedly, I am hooked. From the first time I used this I noticed a difference, in at least the softness of my skin. I haven't noticed much of a change in spider veins (which I don't have many/are not bad). I have noticed though, that my skin is smoother, and stays this way longer.

It comes in a bag, like ground coffee, which I scoop into a small bowl before I get into the shower, after getting wet, I start pouring some into my hands and exfoliating, like you do.


My only issue is that it makes a mess, the grinds get everywhere, but I leave it on my body for a couple of minutes and use that time to get all the grinds off the walls of the shower with the small bowl.

The price is quite steep, at $17.95 for 200g. But I've been using it for a month and still have tons left, which I believe I will be able to justify when I restock this. This is the only product that Jealous currently stocks, but they say find something and do it well, and let me tell you, this is done well.
