My name is Mikayla! I'm a 22 year old University Graduate with a passion for all things beauty. I stumbled into the online beauty community a year ago and have been obsessed with youtube videos and blogs ever since. After watching hundreds of videos over the past year I figured it was about time I joined the community and posted my own thoughts in my own little space. I'm also recently graduated, unemployed and headed for college in September.

I really enjoy all things beauty, and I really like telling my friends what I think about products so writing them down just felt natural. To me, make up isn't something that you wear to make yourself look prettier, it's something you do on yourself for yourself. It has the power to give you strength to tackle a rough day, the courage to find your inner confidence and sparkle like every girl is meant too.

Other than beauty, I love fashion. Beauty and Fashion are the keys to my heart, along with a great deal. I'm all about a decent deal, and budget shopping is my favourite.

I can't wait to start this journey with the internet and all of you!

Just a general disclaimer:

I am not a professional makeup artist, I am completely self taught, any posts on beauty products are purely personal opinion and should not be taken as fact.

Beauty items shown on this blog are purchased by myself, or as a gift from family members.

2 Face Masks to Treat Yourself

Monday, 23 March 2015

The last couple weeks have been crazy stressful with school and a number of different things, and it won't be letting up for another 3 weeks when school is finally finished. When I'm stressed it shows on my skin, even when I don't think I'm stressing out subconsciously stressing anyone? So whenever I have a second to catch my breath and "pamper" myself I take advantage.

Sundays are usually a day where I try to be productive after procrastinating over the weekend, I try to get my blog pictures done for the week, aim to get the posts done and scheduled, and do my homework binge watch season 3 of House of Cards too. Yesterday I didn't have a lot of homework to do, and I had taken a bunch of pictures for the week already, so I took advantage of the afternoon and did a face mask- or 2.

Biore Nose Strip This isn't the most relaxing mask in the world, but it does it's job. I try to use one about once a week to help with the blackheads on my nose. It makes my eyes water peeling it off, but the feeling of my nose afterwards is well worth it. It feels soft and refreshed especially when I follow up with the mask I use next.

The Face Shop Real Nature Cucumber Face Mask A sheet mask that really hydrates, one mask is $2.00 from The Face Shop, however they come so saturated in oils that they are totally worth the $2.00. I start with a clean face and initially try to push out as much oil from the mask as I can over the sink if I don't do this, there is so much oil that it drips down your neck- and that is like torture to me I sit with the mask on my face for 15 minutes (and watch Netflix) and just relax, when the 15 minutes are up I take off the mask and press in the remaining oils on my face. Pressing in the excess oils really helps to ensure my skin soaks it all up.

What do you guys do to de-stress your skin?
